Evapotranspiration and Water Stress Coefficient for Deficit-Irrigated Maize

نویسندگان

چکیده

Crop evapotranspiration under deficit soil water conditions must be quantified to accurately manage irrigation and crop stress achieve targeted savings. A coefficient is commonly used quantify the effect of inadequate on evapotranspiration. 6-year field trial maize in northeastern Colorado was derive for maize. Results showed that affected by both current uptake stomatal resistance impact prior plant growth. Measured less than potential when exceeded 25% total available water. curvilinear relationship modeled measured better linear relationship. Prior resulted a reduction canopy ground cover, which linearly related basal coefficient. These combined effects, incorporated into times reference model, were able estimate with irrigation.

Evaluation of HYDRUS2D for estimating maize evapotranspiration and virtual water content

Fresh water scarcity has become a global problem which needs a serious attempt to find proper solutions for decreasing the pressure on the limited water resources. The exact estimation of crop virtual water would help with choosing crops with high crop and water productivity which lead to both food and water security. Thus, in this research, maize virtual water was estimated using HYDRUS2D base...

Maize (Zea mays L.) Agro-Physiological Response to Potassium and Iron Fertilizer under Water Deficit Stress

This research was conducted to evaluate effect of potassium and iron fertilizers on agro-physiological traits affected different irrigation regime of corn in Shahryar (Tehran province, central of Iran) via a split-split plots arrangement based on randomized complete blocks design with three replications during 2015. The main plot included different irrigation regime (Normal irrigation and stop ...

Estimation of Potential Evapotranspiration and Crop Coefficient of Maize at Rupandehi District of Nepal

This study was conducted to determine the potential evapotranspiration (PET) of maize, the crop coefficient (Kc) under full water requirement as well as the cause of decrease in maize yield. It was determined that the seasonal PET of maize is about 486.6 mm. The Kc under full water supply was found to be: 0.11, 0.35, 1.51 and 0.34 for initial, development, midseason and the late season stages r...

Reduced crown root number improves water acquisition under water deficit stress in maize (Zea mays L.)

In this study we test the hypothesis that maize genotypes with reduced crown root number (CN) will have greater root depth and improved water acquisition from drying soil. Maize recombinant inbred lines with contrasting CN were evaluated under water stress in greenhouse mesocosms and field rainout shelters. CN varied from 25 to 62 among genotypes. Under water stress in the mesocosms, genotypes ...

Infrared Thermometry to Estimate Crop Water Stress Index and Water Use of Irrigated Maize in Northeastern Colorado

With an increasing demand of fresh water resources in arid/semi-arid parts of the world, researchers and practitioners are relying more than ever on remote sensing techniques for monitoring and evaluating crop water status and for estimating crop water use or crop actual evapotranspiration (ETa). In this present study, infrared thermometry was used in conjunction with a few weather parameters t...
